{"id":437,"date":"2020-01-06T00:25:40","date_gmt":"2020-01-06T00:25:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/2020.glasgow.wordcamp.org\/?p=437"},"modified":"2020-01-16T20:33:10","modified_gmt":"2020-01-16T20:33:10","slug":"why-come-to-glasgow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/glasgow.wordcamp.org\/2020\/why-come-to-glasgow\/","title":{"rendered":"Why come to Glasgow?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those of us who are lucky enough to live in, or near, Glasgow in Scotland, know that it is a vibrant place and home to world renowned architecture, music, museums, bars, restaurants and sport.<br><br>This year it will also be the host city for the UK\u2019s first WordCamp of 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For those of you from further afield who are wondering why someone would want to visit Glasgow in February, let me reassure you that this is one of the driest and clearest months of the year in Glasgow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It may be chilly but February is usually bright, clear and the welcome will most certainly be warm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/2020.glasgow.wordcamp.org\/files\/2020\/01\/E3FDF232-61DA-47E3-A196-FC1ABCEB21B1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-447\" width=\"217\" height=\"122\" \/><figcaption>Billy immortalised in Glasgow <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Glaswegians are famous for their humour, epitomised by one of The city\u2019s favourite sons \u2014 Billy Connolly. <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And this February we invite you to the first ever WordCamp Glasgow.
