They support the organising team by helping with the dozens of little tasks that go into a successful WordCamp. If that sounds like hard work, it isn&#8217;t! Being a volunteer is a rewarding and fulfilling experience. It gives you the opportunity to meet and speak with attendees, help out with speakers, organisers, and be part of a brilliant day.<\/p>\n<p>WordCamp volunteers need no previous experience. All you need is energy, enthusiasm, the ability to think on your feet, and a love for the WordPress community.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>What do volunteers do?<\/h3>\n<p>As a volunteer, you&#8217;re likely to do a few of these things. You won\u2019t be doing one thing all day, and you can pause your volunteer duties to see any specific conference talks you want.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Registration Crew<\/strong> \u2013 Check in attendees, hand out name tags, and give out WordCamp t-shirts<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sponsor Support<\/strong> &#8211; Help sponsors set up their tables<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Person Who Has The Duct Tape<\/strong>, the real hero of all WordCamps<\/li>\n<li><strong>Room Monitor<\/strong> \u2013 Ensure the track rooms don\u2019t get overcrowded, and prevent noisy door slamming&#8230;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Time Keeper<\/strong> \u2013 Work with the emcees, video people, speakers, and everyone else working in the room to keep things running smoothly and on time<\/li>\n<li><strong>AV\/Photography<\/strong> \u2013 Help with documenting the event through video and photos<\/li>\n<li><strong>Green Room Monitor<\/strong> \u2013 Help keep the quiet room&#8230;quiet<\/li>\n<li><strong>Catering and Refreshments <\/strong>\u2013 help lay out, serve, and tidy up the lunch, coffee, and snacks<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cable Runner <\/strong>&#8211; because someone will forget a cable, charger, or adapter, we guarantee it<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Please Go To WH Smith And Get That Thing We Forgot Person<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Venue Tidy<\/strong> &#8211; after the WordCamp ends, help us leave the venue in better condition than we found it<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additionally, while it&#8217;s one duty we hope you <em>don&#8217;t<\/em> have to do, all volunteers make themselves available to support any attendee who has a <a href=\"https:\/\/2020.glasgow.wordcamp.org\/code-of-conduct\/\">Code of Conduct<\/a> concern.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like to volunteer don\u2019t buy a ticket just yet &#8211; volunteers get a free one.<\/p>\n<p>Sound good?
